The Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift tale seems depressing to me.

When Taylor Swift attended the Kansas City Chiefs game on Sunday and took a seat next to tight end Travis Kelce's mother, Donna, she shocked the sports world.

The outing put an end to a wild period of rumors during which the rumor mill was cranking overtime to wonder whether Swift and Kelce were actually dating.

A possible relationship between one of the most popular NFL players and one of the most well-known pop performers has an obvious narrative appeal, as if the lyrics of a fairytale come to life.

Leaving from the overabundance of song puns, it is unknown if Kelce will be the subject of any songs on Swift's upcoming album; their relationship is still extremely fresh and nebulous.

The way sports media handled the news about the alleged connection has exposed a lot about how heterosexual male entitlement still permeates much of popular culture, regardless of whether the two continue to date or never see each other again.

To give you a quick history: When Swift was in his city as part of her "Eras" tour, Kelce said on his podcast that he had planned to gift her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it.

He attempted to do so but was unsuccessful, and he acknowledged feeling "butthurt" over it.

Her team appeared to be making a covert effort to dispel dating rumors. However, men were determined to spread the stories.
