Ezekiel Elliott Cowboys Agrees To $90 Million Contract Extension

In a stunning turn of events, Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas Cowboys have put an end to the most dramatic holdout saga in the NFL, just days before the start of the season.

The star running back agreed to a lucrative six-year, $90 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid running back in the league.

This landmark deal surpasses Todd Gurley’s four-year, $60 million contract, resetting the market for top-tier players at this critical position.

Notably, Elliott’s deal also outshines Gurley’s in terms of guaranteed money, with the Cowboys committing a staggering $50 million compared to the $45 million the Rams had guaranteed to Gurley.

The negotiation process was no walk in the park, with surpassing Gurley’s contract reportedly serving as a major point of contention.

However, it appears that both parties have found common ground, ensuring that the Dallas Cowboys will have their star running back on the field against the New York Giants in Week 1.

Before this agreement, there was growing concern among fans and experts that Elliott’s holdout might extend into the regular season, an unsettling prospect for both the player and the team.

Zeke had consistently been the league leader in rushing, dominating the ground game in two out of his three full seasons.
