Bears Pushed to Give $72 Million Pro Bowl WR ‘Extended Tryout’

Would signing veteran free agent wide receiver Kenny Golladay off the street aid the Chicago Bears?

Bleacher Report's Matt Holder is among many who believe the former Detroit Lions wideout may benefit Chicago.

The Bears have struggled to fill the WR3 position behind DJ Moore and Darnell Mooney.

Chase Claypool did not work out, rookie Tyler Scott's inexperience has shown at times, and Velus Jones Jr. does not deserve to be on the roster,

which is why he was eventually a healthy scratch for the team's Week 10 game against the Carolina Panthers.

"The Bears hoped Chase Claypool would be their contested-catch receiver, but that did not pan out."

"They could still use someone who can fill that role, and Golladay's calling card in Detroit was coming down with 50/50 balls," Holder wrote on November 13.

Adding another WR wouldn’t hurt, particularly if one came cheap. Golladay meets that criteria.
